How to Book a Speed Post Consignment

You can book a Speed Post consignment at any India Post booking counter that offers Speed Post services. The basic booking steps are:

  1. Visit your nearest Speed Post enabled post office.
  2. Carry a properly packed parcel or document with complete address and pincode.
  3. Fill the consignment / booking form if required at the counter.
  4. Provide sender and receiver details with mobile numbers for better updates.
  5. Pay the Speed Post charges based on weight, destination and service type.
  6. Collect the receipt with your Speed Post tracking number.

Tip: Always double check the destination pincode using our Pincode Search Tool to avoid delays or “insufficient address” issues.

Tracking Your Speed Post Consignment

Once your consignment is booked, you can track its journey online using the tracking number printed on your receipt. Simply enter this number on the IndiaSpeedPost.com home page to see live status updates.

Common Tracking Events

If tracking status is not updating, wait for a few hours and try again. Some offices update scans in batches.

Packing & Addressing Your Consignment

Proper packing and addressing reduces the risk of damage, delay or return-to-sender. Follow these guidelines while sending Speed Post consignments:

  • Use a strong envelope or corrugated box for delicate items.
  • Write the full address with correct pincode and mobile number.
  • Place a small address slip inside the parcel as a backup.
  • Avoid prohibited items such as explosives, liquids, or restricted materials.
  • Seal the parcel properly with good quality tape.

If Your Speed Post Consignment is Delayed

Sometimes consignments may get delayed due to weather, network congestion, address issues or operational reasons. You can:

  • Check tracking history to see the last scanned location.
  • Contact the destination post office with your tracking number.
  • Use the official India Post complaint system for long delays or lost parcels.
